One of the first things we did was the WPAP. We had to trace our face and make all the different colors and glares to help add definition to our face. Probably one of the most difficult things for me in this class, but I got through it.
My name is Emily O'Donnell. I am a senior at Lakewood High School and currently enrolled in Graphic Design. I remember stumbling into class thinking about how I never even signed up for this class. Thinking back on it now, I'm glad I was put into Graphic Design. I have never been much of an artistic person, in fact I'm very artistically challenged. Don't get me wrong I'm a very creative person but my creativity is higher than my actual artistic skills. I was very nervous about this class because I thought that I would have to draw a lot. I hate drawing. But I remember when Mrs. Volkoff asked us to raise our hand if we hated drawing. My hand shot up in the air, and little did I know she wasn't fond of drawing either. It was inspiring to know that you can still be a skilled artist without having to draw. If I consider myself an artist at all, it would be mainly a digital artist. I love taking pictures and know how to edit using Photoshop and I now know how to create things in Adobe Illustrator. This class taught me a lot about myself. It opened my eyes to new artistic careers that I could possibly excel in.
